IT’S ABOUT TIME!

The world embraced N.W.A. like if it was 1988 all over again this year, except this time, the World’s Most Dangerous Group achieved success like never before. And it’s about to get better for Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella. One of the most prolific crews in rap history has now been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after being nominated twice before and not making it in. Lucky for them, the third time was the charm and now join the likes of Deep Purple, Chicago, Cheap Trick, and Steve Miller as the class of 2016.

Straight Outta Compton, the highest-grossing musical biopic of all time, probably sealed the deal for them and not only did they receive praise for the film throughout the mainstream, but the group also cracked the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time ever this year.

It’s no doubt that 2015 has been one of the best years ever for the crew. Ice Cube was in compete disbelief when he heard the news about N.W.A.’s induction, telling Rolling Stone:

“It’s hard to sum up exactly what it means. It means a lot of things. It means that the group’s mark is kind of solidified. It’s all legitimized in a way because the whole music industry has to honor the group in a way. It’s just hard to sum up in words, really.”

Congrats to the OG’s for the big win!
