When you get a chance to get an in-depth look at the creation of one of the best albums of all time, you don’t hesitate. This year at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, Nas will be opening the event with his brand new documentary “Time Is Illmatic” on April 16th.

The debut of the documentary, filmed by One9 and written by Erik Parker, will not only be a huge day for the hip-hop culture, but Nas himself. The presentation will dive deep into the actual creation of Nas’ classic LP, Illmatic, representing a community of people surrounding the project, as well as the artist in his rawest form. To make things even better, Nastradamus will follow-up the viewing with a special performance of the entire album, which was originally released in 1994.

Nas is also set to release Illmatic XX, a 20th anniversary edition of the debut LP, April 15th — the day before the festival begins.
