New Rory & Mal series DJ Akademiks, Joe Budden comments are examined after the New Jersey native believes Jumpoff has lost his audience. Last weekend, the official Rory & Mal podcast launched and premiered on Spotify. The rollout was very cryptic, as they didn’t even mention the platform that their former business partner had public issues with.
While Rory and Mal are yet to address their new situation, they have also launched a new YouTube channel. There, the premiere episode has already generated almost 400,000 views in just 24 hours. In that same time, DJ Akademiks believes that Rory & Mal has stolen the Joe Budden Podcast audience.
Although that sounds entertaining, it’s simply not the case, as the Budden channel hasn’t been affected at all. It’s still generating similar numbers, which backlash from fans has all but disappeared after a month.
Now, why is the Rory & Mal show taking over?
Simply because they’ve managed to keep all of their connections and not burn bridges. Considering these are two right-hand guys of Jay-Z, Drake and Kevin Durant, they have access to almost everyone in entertainment. We still expect the two to have focus centered in the podcast world that gave them light, a sit-down interview with all three can happen at any time.
This week, Rory launched his interview series, having a great conversation with Emotional Oranges. Mal also teased their upcoming sit-down with rap great Belly, who’s ghostwritten for the biggest artists in music. Take a look at media below.
