Noah “40” Shebib Breaks Down OVO Sound Production Process with Drake

Noah ’40’ Shebib on producing Drake

Before Noah “40” Shebib crafted some of the biggest hits in the urban world with Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and Lil Wayne among others, he was figuring out steps with Drake to put together the base hub for their OVO Sound imprint. In a recent piece with Native Instruments, the GRAMMY-winning producer opened up his studio to the public for the first time ever, where he explained his goal is to have the best production room – which he’s built from the stand-point of a producer.

After explaining the blueprint of enabling any laptop to have complete control of the console, screens and keyboards of the room, Noah went to breakdown the signature under-water sound you frequently hear in their material. Watch more from the interview, where 40 also talks taking an unorthodox route most beat makers do don’t do – crafting work of taking an opposite approach of starting with drum programming. The Boy also reconfirms his VFT6 release date below.
