Post Malone Stoney
Released: December 9th, 2016
Must Listen: “Deja Vu” (feat. Justin Beiber)

Anyone who doubted Post Malone in 2016 should take a listen to his debut album Stoney. He’s way deeper than his breakout hit “White Iverson” and Stoney shows us that no problem.

Post Malone treads a Country/Hip-Hop medium, that suprisingly works. On Stoney, Post Malone finds a happy medium and does well on both sides. The only thing that slows the album down a little is it’s heftiness clocking in with 18 tracks, but there are more than a few bangers. After the kind of slow intro Post Malone falls right into a groove with “Big Lie,” followed up by “Deja Vu,” which features Justin Beiber and is one of the best songs on the project.

Post Malone finds a strong point in his hooks, and that’s apparent on Stoney. He’s not lyrical, and he doesn’t have the strongest voice,  but with the right beat and fire hook he’s a enjoyable listen. He recruits a list producers such as Pharrell, DJ Mustard, Vinylz and more to perfect his sound and he does just that. Post Malone doesn’t have the cleanest album in Stoney, but he shows that he’s here to stay with it. We can’t wait to see what he brings to the table in 2017.
