Big Sean I Decided
Released: February 2nd, 2017
Essential Listening: Light (feat. Jeremih)

Big Sean had a quiet but productive 2016, via his feature verses. With each fire verse everyone wondered something though. Where was the next album? He ended the year with a head full of steam, and announced his next LP I Decided. The first two singles from the album were “Moves” and “Bounce Back,” which set the standards for the album pretty high. After that, Andre 3000 told us he Sean didn’t waste one bar on the album, and he was right. He didn’t.

Over the course of 14 songs Big Sean dropped some amazing bars as usual, and gave us a peak into the world he’s living in right now. He started off with an immaculent sample of Alicia Key’s “Unbreakable” that featured Jeremih on the hook. From there it’s all smooth sailing. Sean isn’t as hype and boastful as he is on “Moves” and “Bounce Back,” but he still delivers a nice smooth album for our enjoyment. Migos, The Dream and of course Jhene Aiko all make appearances on the album too, and enhance the sound. Only thing that could have made this better was more KeY Wane.

Sean has reached the level in his career where everybody wants to hear what he’s got to say, and I Decided does nothing but further that. He’s finally getting the respect he should, it’s about damn time.
