PnB Rock Going Through The Motions
Released: January 13th, 2017
Essential Listening: There She Go (feat. YFN Lucci)
PnB Rock has been buzzing for a while out of Philly, and he finally got his shot with his debut Going Through The Motions. While Meek Mill still has Philly on lock despite the many troubles he’s faced lately, PnB is another bright spot coming out of the city. January 13th he unleased the project Going Through The Motions, and with that he won a lot of fans over. I personally hadn’t heard much from him before this, but the album proves he’s the real deal. He didn’t pack on the features only bringing along 5 people over the span of 14 tracks, and 1 of those songs feature 2 people.
The best features probably belong to YFN Lucci and Ty Dolla $ign though, as they both knocked their guest verses out the park. One problem Rock may run into going down the line is how much he sounds like Dolla $ign, but on Going Through The Motions it’s not about that. It’s about how much potential he has going forward, and how this album solidified that. There are enough good songs on the album to prove he should be sticking around for a while with his infectious melodies about women, love, and so forth. He can also dabble in the trap/singing genre when he wants, and that’s always a plus. We can’t wait to see what he does in the rest of 2017.
