15 years ago to the day, ATLiens and legendary collective OutKast released their third studio album “Aquemini.” The album’s title was derived from the two’s zodiac signs which Big Boi is an Aquarius and 3 Stacks being Gemini. For the projects first single, we witnessed history (literally) with Big Boi & André 3000 releasing the popular and controversial single “Rosa Parks.”
The track became so popular from their deliver, chorus and good vibe; but we fell in love with the track mainly because of their lyrics throughout its duration. What drew us to OutKast was that none of their albums or singles sounded similar ever; making for an organic experience every time they dropped to something. Today, it’s only right we pay homage to the ATL duo that’s been in the game for over 3 decades; still making quality music currently with a rumored André 3000 album for 2014.
