Over the week, we’ve been seeing photos and highlights of Diddy and Ma$e’s reunion performance at Drake’s “OVO Fest 2013”, where the two hit the stage for the first time in 9 years. We normally browse back through the old school Bad Boy catalog, to listen to them timeless hits Puff was behind adding classic them background vocals we use to imitate.
When Frank White solidified himself as a top rapper of the game, Puff Daddy was ready to embark on his own solo career starting with his debut solo single “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down.” The previous summer, the masses got their first glimpse of Murda Ma$e on 112’s “Only You” with Biggie; but this was the first single in our eyes where he achieved commercial notoriety.
From Eddie Griffin having B.I.G. in the car laughing at their run-in with the jakes, to driving through the open sandy roads with that classic Rolls-Royce; Ma$e had to be energized that day during the shoot to keep up with the hours of Puffy dancing.
“Fronting like Bad Boy ain’t got tracks, nigga stop that.”
Three decades in the music industry, Bad Boy Records has hits that are timeless still.
