OS Flashback: Scarface – Smile (feat. 2pac)

Some of you out there might not quite understand, but believe us when we say that not a week goes by where we don’t play 2pac music through our speakers. And as far as collaborations go, Scarface’s “Smile” might be one of our all time favorites.

Not only is it one of the last Tupac recordings, but the aura surrounding the video always made us question whether he was still alive or not. Scarface used a look-alike for the visual (shown hanging on a cross like on the Makaveli album), and this was at a time where 7-day theory conspiracies were running rampant on the Internet. Some were convinced it was 2pac in the video, and he was still alive hiding in Cuba somewhere.

People really sleep on Face’s The Untouchable album too. Not only did it spawn his most certified hit in “Smile,” but it featured bangers with Too $hort, Dr. Dre, Devin The Dude, Ice Cube and more. Lowkey, it’s a classic from the king of the South.

We’ll leave you with some wise words for today. R.I.P. 2pac.

There’s gon’ be some stuff you gon’ see, that’s gon’ make it hard to smile in the future. But through whatever you see, through all the rain and the pain, you gotta keep your sense of humor. You gotta be able to smile through all this bullshit. Remember that.
