Last week, Wu-Tang affiliate Shyheim The Rugged Child was raided in his Staten Island apartment, which he was arrested for felony gun and drug possession. He’s currently being held on a $10,000 bail at Rikers Island with a court appearance scheduled for today.
12 Years ago, Shy served a two-year prison term after attempted robbery in which returning home, we thought his music and acting career would take off again like prior years but recent events led to him returning back to behind the G-wall.
Earlier in his career, Shyheim was one of the only rappers to have legitimate co-signs from Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z and Wu-Tang which he was their unofficial 10th member.
At the age of 15, he released his sophomore album “The Lost Generation” with was highlighted by the ode to his borough “Shaolin Style.” With partner emcee Squigg Trust featured on the track, they discuss the struggles of being caught up with the street life, which sadly he’s still presently dealing with.
We’re hoping when the Shy returns home, he can get his life back in order.
