Ty Dolla $ign has been talking about Campaign for a little while now, and now we understand why. It’s a hell of a mixtape/album.
Ty is the king of ratchet crooning tunes, and Campaign is him diving further into what he’s good at. He delivers some great tunes, does a few records for the clubs, fights police brutality and then jumps back into the ratchetness. Whether you like it or not, the guy is very good at balancing such topics into one project, making it all mesh and sound cohesive. He also brings out special moments in his brother Big TC, Meek Mill and 24 Hours among others.
Dolla $ign also mixes a little bit of trap into his sound, just listen to “$.” He keeps up along with the theme of Campaign too, with him featuring a few people speaking on the current affairs of the presidential election, most notably YG. YG delivers a great minute skit on why he doesn’t support Trump, and what will make him further support Hilary Clinton. He mixes all these topics into one collective project that we’ll probably be rocking with for a minute, with it still heavy in our rotations. One of the greatest moments of September is easily Ty Dolla $ign on his Campaign.
