Cleveland, God bless you. You birthed one of our favorite groups of all time. Yes, the tongue-twist, rapid fire spitters of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
Between Krayzie Bone and Bizzy Bone, we could never decide who our favorite member was. It would really depend on the song. Both would attack tracks in a different manner, with Krayzie gaining more points in the smooth category, while Bizzy’s aggressiveness was his strength. We couldn’t even sleep on Layzie either.
They influenced so many of the artists you hear today. At times we hear it channeled through King Chip when he sings, while others come from A$AP Rocky on a verse. The Game’s latest single samples of Bone Thugs’ classics.
And that’s why we pay homage to them. They were the only artists who collaborated with both Biggie, ‘Pac and Eazy E. And their still trying to do their thing. Krayzie appeared on a track with Freddie Gibbs and killed it, for God’s sakes.
We’re Not Against Rap. We’re Not Against Rappers. But We Are Against Those Thugs.
