We must admit, the Marshall Mathers LP 2 has been getting a lot of burn the past week. As much as we didn’t want to play it, it bothered us how much we weren’t rocking with the Eminem album like we thought we would. The ache in our Slim Shady stan souls compared to the pain of a side stitch after running too long. It hurts when breathe.
So we listened to the four tracks we liked the most, over and over.
After we realized we wanted more, more tracks started getting play, to the point we made our own version of the project that flowed a little better. Maybe it was the way it was originally sequenced that turned us off, but at least now we can stomach more than half the album without cutting it off in disappointment halfway through.

We jump-started the album with “So Much Better” to go along with the “Kill You” type vibe of the first album. Keeping with the tradition with the shorty on Track 13, we gave the honor to “The Monster” (even though none of the previous “Track 13’s” were ever singles). We also put “Bad Guy” as track three because “Stan” was in that position on the original Marshall Mathers LP, so it makes sense. More importantly, “Wicked Ways” and “Groundhog Day” were too good to shove in some bonus disc on the deluxe version.
Also, two Skylar Grey tracks is a little much, so we snubbed “Hole” and completely removed the “KIM” sequel “Stronger Than I Was.” 18 tracks seems fitting for an Eminem album. Unfortunately, “Don’t Front” isn’t on Spotify or it would be in the mix.
