Puff Daddy Talks Confronting Suge Knight after Infamous 1995 Source Awards

Damn, Falcon seems pretty upset.”

Well over 21 years ago, Suge Knight sparked tension in the streets, when he publicly referenced an unknown label executive producer – dancing all in the videos and signing. While showing support for Tupac Shakur before his $1.4 million bail posting two months later, Death Row Records were on foreign turf and planning to air out their differences with Bad Boy Records.

This week, Puff Daddy was guest on the Drink Champions Show, where he sat down with Norega and DJ EFN to open up on that infamous night in NYC at the Source Awards. In the midst of taking shots, Diddy revealed that Suge Knight picked him up from the airport leading up to the big show, where he thought the two had a relationship that was on the verge of turning into a friendship.

With tension in the air after Big Suge’s comments, Puffy said he fell back on green-lighting the situation on Death Row – saying it was the scariest situation of his entire life having the power to start something. However, before things concluded, Diddy said he confronted Mr. Knight immediately after the Source show at Chelsea’s legendary night club, The Tunnel.

During the conversation, Suge told Puffy that those comments were aimed at Jermaine Dupri – as Diddy kept a straight face. Let us know in the comments if you think it was really about J.D.
