Baton Rouge, LA has been in the news lately, because of the tragedy regarding Alton Sterling and the riots following. Many have stood up in his defense and spoke out against police brutality. Regardless of what side you fall on, the incident sparked a national conversation, one that has been an ongoing fight for years.

So what is the music from Baton Rouge sounding like at the moment? Meet QUADRY, a young rapper on the come up in the city. He just released his album America, Me and he doesn’t sound like what you’d expect. Using a more soulful and jazzy template, QUAD manages to stay introspective throughout the project, telling the story of how he feels living in this country through his own eyes.
