SremmLife 2 coming shortly

Leading up to the release of their official sophomore album, SremmLife 2, Rae Sremmurd decided to break their silence with Fader Magazine. The Mississippi duo is in the home stretch of promoting the upcoming LP and decided to formally clear the air on a few situations.

Last December, Ebro Darden criticized Complex Magazine’s decision to have Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy as the third best album of 2015 – above the likes of Alabama Shakes and The Weeknd others.

He soon said the group’s raps were simplistic, but raised a red flag to the EarDrumma camp when he said they didn’t write their own rhymes. Rae Sremmurd swiftly responded to the Hot 97 and Apple Music personality during a 20-minute freestyle on Tim Westwood the following day.

However, things didn’t slow down, as Mike WiLL Made-It and Mr. Darden traded some words after Swae Lee landed writing credits for Beyoncé’s controversial single, Formation.”

On being called out by Ebro for allegedly having ghostwriters.
“It’s such a false statement. Where’d it come from? You pulled it out your ass. If you want to know who wrote my shit, go to my album credits I believe they generate a ton of ideas. But that stuff isn’t even writing, it’s just like mumbo jumbo, swag talk. Ebro’s from a whole other generation, which is cool. He probably grew up on Ice Cube.”

On writing “Formation” for Queen Bey.
“When I made that Beyoncé hook I was thinking nothing about it. I come in the studio and she’s just like, a goddess or something. Just sitting there. This good aura. They played it for me and I’m like, It’s a new Beyoncé. She put her own twist on it. She has so much sauce on that song, it blew me away. She freaked it!”
