RAY BLK only has a few tracks to her name, but she’s already sounding like a promising watch for the future. For her latest track “My Hood,” the London singer teams up with producer Courage for a song about her home of South East London. With the song focusing on that particular area of London, it was only right that a fellow native by the name of Stormzy jumped on board, too.
Speaking on the track, RAY BLK said:
“It’s a bittersweet song about home. South east is one of the roughest places in London but it rears the strongest people, and that’s what makes us special. The song wouldn’t be complete if Stormzy wasn’t on it. We’re from the same place. He embodies what the song is about, he’s a figure who’s blossomed from a hard place…there’s a line in the song, “Through concrete flowers grow.”
The track is set to appear on her upcoming self-titled project.
