To be truthful, we don’t listen to any music podcasts. If it’s not Jalen and Jacoby on Grantland or something else sports related that catches our attention, we’re not really hearing it. Why waste time listening to someone talk shit and give their opinion on rap music for an hour?
R&B is different, though. Mostly because, who else is really talking about it? That must be why Rob Markman and Kristin Coral started their Red Light Special podcast. Their slogan is actually “to talk about R&B and the way it makes us feel.” Considering we grew up listening to R&B more than rap in the younger days, it intrigued us to listen. Especially since they set it off with a debate for their debut episode. And it tells a lot about someone depending on which side you land on.
Do you prefer Jodeci or Boyz II Men when it comes to classic R&B?
That’s what the topic of the hour was and to make things more interesting, they brought out Mack Wilds to get his take on the debate. All three argued every side (hits, style, music) and it seemed like they concluded on Jodeci, even though Kristin kept fighting for Boyz II Men and ended up siding with Jodeci for a lot of the arguments.
They also answered love questions towards the end of the podcast and talked to Mack about what he’s got on deck with the music and he revealed he’s diving into acting as well.
