Rhythm Roulette: DJ Dahi (Pt. 2)

This isn’t the first time DJ Dahi makes an appearance on Rhythm Roulette. It’s actually his second. The difference between this one and the last? This is the Serato Edition of the segment. The name of the game is still the same. He’s still getting three records to work with (Midwestern District Choir, Greg Perry’s Smokin’ and an “extremely rare Brazilian joint”) after being blindfolded and picking them out, and he’s still hitting the studio to cook up beats.

To his advantage, he’s working with new Serato software called “Sample,” which is a plug-in that intergrates with the OG software Pitch ‘N Time. Producers are able to chop samples and manipulate them as they wish, with BPM’s being adjusted without losing audio quality.

It’s definitely something producers should be messing with moving forward.
