Is R8 still on track to release before the end of 2015?
Over the summer, Rihanna put her music career to the side to launch campaigns for Puma, Dior and becoming a main advisor on NBC’s The Voice fall. She even managed to generate buzz for two of the biggest pop-urban single’s this year with “American Oxygen” and the ratchet-beloved “Bitch Better Have My Money.” However, fans are still in need of her long-awaited R8 project, which has been in the works for quite some time. It’s hard to believe it’s been three years since her last full-length effort, but RiRi spoke with NME about the unfortunate album delays, saying:
“To me it’s never done until it’s done. Until the final moment. No matter what I post online, within three comments there’s somebody saying, ‘Where is ‘R8’?’ I could post anything. Nothing else matters. They don’t care about anything but that. But it makes me excited, because I can’t wait to give them something great. Now we just have to wait to get back in the studio together. [Kanye’s] schedule and mine are totally opposite right now, but I think this month we’ll be back in the studio. I have so many songs I love – and they’re so different – that it’s hard to actually put them all on the same album.”
Well, while the sexy singer is wanting to create the album, fans can now rest easy knowing that she and Yeezy are planning to hit the studio at some point this month and get the job done. Take a look at Ri becoming the first cover star of the NME in the photo below.
