It’s just about that time for Sam Smith to hit it out of the park with his latest single “I’m Not The Only One” in the mainstream, and to help the cause, Ellen Degeneres invited him to perform on her show. She was geeked about having him, seeing as how she’s a big In The Lonely Hour fan.
Before he took the stage with his band, he talked about not becoming a spokesperson for the gay and lesbian community after coming out to the public (his mother has known for a while already). He mentioned the fact that he did it beforehand so it didn’t come off as a gimmick for selling records following the release of the album.
