With Sam Smith less than a week away from sweeping the GRAMMY Awards, he takes the time to release an emotional video for the single “Lay Me Down,” from his critically acclaimed In The Lonely Hour album. This is one of a handful of visuals that have come out from his debut effort, with each following a story line throughout. This one is no different.
Starting at a church in front of a crowd full of people with candles, Sam’s vocals carry a more powerful tone, as he stands in front singing at a funeral for a loved one. As the camera pans towards the back, we can see a flash of happier times for him, taking him back to the wedding ceremony, before landing right back in present time as he reminisces over their good times.
