Last week at NYC’s West Side Gallery, we saw ScHoolboy Q perform his most recent single “Collard Greens” with Black Hippy cohort Kendrick Lamar. This week, we’re shown an interview conducted by Miss Info getting some details and what’s been taking the album we all waiting for so long to release. Q sets the record straight staying it wasn’t Interscope’s fault at all; citing since this is his major label debut, he wanted to make sure his “baby” was full presentable to the world being in a make-it-or-break-it mindset.
He went on to discuss why he doesn’t want mixape leftover compilation releases, saying the greats didn’t leak records; but focused only on their album because mixtape’s weren’t good enough for a presentation. The first lady of Top Dawg, SZA joined the conversation to conclude things, discussing how it’s like to work with Black Hippy being comfortable in the studio with her new label mates.
Watch the video above, which hopefully we’ll see a release date for “Oxymoron” soon.
