“Cruisin” might be our favorite Smokey Robinson track ever, but the legendary singer has more than a handful of hits under the belt. To celebrate the success of his career (solo or as a songwriter), Smokey has gathered some top notch talent for his upcoming Smokey & Friends album, which will feature remakes of songs he was a part of with the likes of Elton John, Miguel, Sheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige and more.
For the new version of “Quiet Storm” from his album of the same name, he calls on John Legend to sing the duet with him. John had some good words about him to kick off the track, quoting Bob Dylan, thanking Smokey for the honor of doing a track with him.
Smokey & Friends is due out in stores on August 19.
