Stockholm, Sweden’s own Snoh Aalegra has been rising and making a name for herself aside from her features in recent weeks. Her latest EP There Will Be Sunshine might have gone under the radar, but people are slowly paying attention to what the singer has on deck. Today, she released a stripped version of the title track, using only her voice and a piano to carry the tune as she performs it in a dim lit room so you can see her talent for what it is.

When I first came to L.A. I thought it was a bit soulless and lonely, but I’m starting to like it. The weather is everything. I’m from Sweden, where it’s winter, like, half the year. And it’s dark—we barely have any daylight. I mean, we have one of the highest rates of suicide in the world.
