Square Inc. Has Been In talks To Buy TIDAL From JAY Z

Could JAY Z sell TIDAL sometime soon? Mr. Business Man might consider a deal and has been in talks with Square to sell his streaming service.

According to Bloomberg, Jack Dorsey’s digital-payment company Square Inc. is interested in buying. Hov has reportedly met privately with Dorsey multiple times during the pandemic and the potential deal is because Square Inc. wants to diversify. These meetings and negotiations do not necessarily mean Jay Hova will sell, though.

Dorsey has been photographed with JAY and Beyonce in the past and has maintained a strong relationship with the couple throughout the years.

Though TIDAL has struggled to increase subscribers and compete with the likes of Spotify and Apple Music, it does offer high quality streaming, better than its competitors.

JAY Z bought TIDAL from Swedish company Aspiro back in March of 2015 for $56 million.
