Thanks to Green Label Sound & Cornerstone, Brooklynites Joey Bada$$ and the legendary DJ Premier met for the first time as the two were at Primo’s HQ studios as the two recorded their first (of hopefully) many collaborations the same night with “Unorthodox.” Primo discusses having an unconditional passion for being able to still make current sounding music without leaving his original organic sounds.
Premier touched on his peers having a mid-career crisis in a sense of making music to sound like the younger artist as opposed to staying in their original lane we all loved them for. Joey sits quiet in amazement of being schooled on the game from Primo which we also see an original MPC machine that Premier still uses floppy disk to transfer files from.
