That Time Ice-T & Tupac Shakur Got into an Argument over “Hit Em Up”

Some major gems from Ice T

A few weeks ago, Ice-T was guest on N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s Drink Champs podcast. During the conversation, he touched on being a pioneer for gangster music in the rap world before N.W.A. after moving to Los Angeles in his youth. He soon touched on his relationship with Tupac Shakur and how the two eventually had a falling out. After the release of All Eyez on Me, 2pac decided he wanted to vent issues with a few former associates in the controversial diss track “Hit ‘Em Up.”

Along with The Outlawz, 2pac stopped by Ice T’s house in Los Angeles to give him a first listen to the track. Ice soon questioned Pac why he took his issues with former East Coast associates to music and wanted him to handle the problem in person. The two west coast rapper continued their argument, to the point of them having a falling out that was never resolved.

Take a look at the full interview above, where Ice T also goes in detail on wanting to have Bad Boy and Death Row members have a phone conversation, but that plan falling apart as well.
