Like we told you last week when we brought you the special edition beef podcast of Jalen and Jacoby, this week the two are back with an even better episode. In another special Pop The Trunk production, Jalen Rose and David Jacoby pay homage to one of the best basketball movies of all time, Above The Rim.
Not only do they flash back to their favorite scenes and give commentary about why and what happened during those particular parts, but they also run through the fashion styles that are found at that time and how they influenced many following the release of the film. Jalen argues that Allen Iverson was very influenced, by not only 2pac, but by Kyle, who went to Georgetown and came from the streets.
The duo also breakdown the different characters and why their roles played a significant part in the movie.
For those who watched the film already, this is a good reminder on why you should watch it again. For the young bloods who haven’t, it’s time you do and hopefully this podcast inspires you too. At the very least, go listen to that dope ass Death Row soundtrack that has plenty of classics.
