Solange – 6 O’Clock Blues
It’s coming up to six years since Solange released her last studio album Sol-Angel And The Hadley St. Dreams, and what differed the second LP from her debut was the commanding sense of electronica on the recording. Keeping the energy of the production on light-hearted note, the Houston singer-songwriter provided her theme of independence next to Mark Ronson on “6 O’Clock Blues,” arriving in the form of a reminiscent look at old-school instrumentation. If a singer is looking to display the sheer strength in their vocals, leave it down to Ronson to deliver the goods.
