Just shortly after the New Year; Toronto’s most popular artist without an album out, The Weeknd teased plans for 2013 with an unnamed album and artwork tweet showing desktop folders on his MacBook to be revealed at a later date. Well now today, we finally get the long-awaited news of his official album which will be titled “Kiss Land” along with the unveiling of the official artwork.
Last fall, we got the Gold certified “Trilogy” album which was a compilation of his three mixtapes from 2011 “House of Balloons,” “Thursday” and “Echoes of Silence;” which gave newer fans a history of his discography as well as three previously unreleased songs for the die-hard audience. Now fans of both will be able to enjoy his first full length album featuring all new material.
Fans of the R&B singer in the UK can look out for his two-week long UK concert run which starts this Wednesday, March 20th in Manchester with additional shows in Glasglow, Birmingham and London. With the official artwork being unveiled, we’re hoping to see his first full-length studio album on XO’ & Universal Republic sometime later this year.
