That sure didn’t take long. Just a few hours after Jay-Z released his first solo record of 2013, “Open Letter,” alongside Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, it seems as if the White House wanted to clear the air about the track at their morning briefing.
During routine questions, one reporter asked White House Press Secretary about some of the lyrics in “One Letter,” specifically, Havana Hov’s line about getting the President impeached and the White House clearance he received for his recent trip to Cuba.
“I guess nothing rhymes with treasury…” – White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney
The funniest response might be from the room of reporters after the lyrics are recited, when everybody laughed in unison. Shout out to Mr. Carter for being so boss that the White House is responding to his new songs, only hours after they’re released.
