TIME’s 10 Questions For Questlove

questlovetime

To promote his newest memoir, Mo Meta Blues, Questlove of The Roots sat down with TIME Magazine for a few questions about his career, and the state of Hip-Hop. Quest mentioned Stevie Wonder’s “Songs In The Key Of Life” is probably one song that impacted him the most, being six years old and reading through liner notes. He was also asked if he was upset at what Hip-Hop became, and he mentions how baffled it was to see PSY’s “Gangnam Style” nominated as a Hip-Hop record at the Billboard Awards.

An interesting tidbit about their talk was Questlove saying that he thought Late Night with Jimmy Fallon was supposed to be a “retirement gig” but has actually opened up more doors for them that they could have ever imagined. He feels like the show has given them a new lease on life, like they’re three years deep in the game, instead of 25.
