Yes, JAY Z will be 47 come December 4th, and no it has not done anything to his rap skills. Hov is still just as good at rapping at 46 than he was back in the 90’s and it’s honestly mind boggling at this point.
If anyone would have told us that in 2016 JAY Z would be rapping over Southside beats I wouldn’t have believed it, but here we are. JAY Z not only raps over the thumper by Sizzle, but he slaughters it and lets us know why we still call him Hovie baby. The song is a hit for many reasons: the beat is great, Future offers a very melodic, catchy hook, and DJ Khaled put together the perfect formula to back JAY Z for 2 verses. He shows us that he has not lost a step. He takes jabs at raps golden child Drake, brags about owning his masters and even references his win in the “Big Pimpin'” lawsuit. How’s that for bragging?
Anytime JAY Z laces up his sneakers for a verse we sit back and listen, “I Got The Key’s” is just another example of that.
