Nas on “Nas Album Done”
Features: Nas
Prod. Cool & Dre, 808 Ray
Upon the initial release of the tracklisting for Major Key, the track title that stood out the most undoubtedly was Nas’ “Nas Album Done.” Just look at the title. It jumps out at you like “Hey, Nas’ album is done everybody.”
Fans have been yearning for a follow up to the last album Life Is Good for sometime now, and just like that, we all found out that the next effort is complete. The title may actually be more important than the song just because of the simple fact that we know that his album is finished, and hopefully coming soon. He didn’t give DJ Khaled a leftover filler track either, he laced him with a heat rock.
This Nas track is easily arguably one of the best tracks on the album for many reasons. His first verse is DISGUSTING, the beat is beautiful, and it signals new Nas is on the horizon. The beat is a sample of The Fugees song “Fu-Gee-La,” and Nas rides the track perfectly and talks about his own personal major keys on the hook. Khaled even wrote the Fugees a letter for allowing Nas to sample the track and put it on the album letting us know how serious this track was. Now we’ll be waiting on this new album to surface, and hopefully we get it before the year is out..
