Big Sean on “Holy Key”
Features: Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar & Betty Wright
Prod: Cool & Dre, Edsclusive
The proper name for “Holy Key” should be “Big Sean’s Revenge.” That’s exactly what he got on this track featuring Kendrick Lamar, who stole his shine some years ago on Big Sean’s “Control.” Kendrick delivered such a good/controversial verse that the whole world actually forgot it was a Big Sean track.
Not one to be outdone 2 times in a row, Sean Don puts his best foot forward and comes through with a verse that sparked a ton of debates about who had the better verse. We’re going to side with Sean based off the simple fact that he sounds hungry out of this world opening the track up. He has some words for police brutality, rappers stealing his style, and of course working hard on that new album. All of Sean’s guest verses have been pretty hard as of late, but this one takes the cake. His new album will be something special if this is any indication of it.
We’re going to need to K.Dot and Sean Don collaborate more often if this is going to be the result every time. They bring out great verses in one another and DJ Khaled exploited that perfectly for the album. If you want to hear a great collab on Major Key, look no further than track number 4.
