The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame taps Tupac & more!
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced inductees for next year’s class! The likes of Pearl Jam, Journey, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra and Joan Baez are among the names to be honored – along with Tupac Shakur, who becomes the first ever solo rapper to receive an induction.
The ceremony will happen next year on April 7, 2017, at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, as ticket details for the big event will be announced sometime in the next few weeks.
The R and R Hall requires every artist to have a 25-year window after their first major single or album, which Makaveli was finally cleared eligibility after the release of his 1991 debut, 2Pacalypse Now. Look for a special airing on HBO and Sirius XM Radio next spring.
