It’s no secret that Tyler, the Creator’s one of the more creative artists from a directorial standpoint; but now the Odd Future co-founder takes a break from his crude humor and darker themed settings to direct a music video for D.A. Wallach. The song is titled “Glowing” and is still yet to be revealed who’s behind the track, but Tyler gets behind the creative process for the song’s video to create a gem. The videos centers on two children, who journey together peacefully throughout life in the midst of the most devastating and unforgettable events in the world’s history, shown in a semi-timeline. Odd Future’s manager Christian Clancy spoke with NPR saying:
The video follows a couple who meet as children, fall in love, grow up and grow old together. As their romance blossoms, the world is in chaos, plagued by war, famine and abject poverty. The song itself is both joyful and reflective, with a bouncy, infectious melody and sweet harmonies in the spirit of late ’60s or early ’70s pop. Think Gilbert O’Sullivan’s “Alone Again (Naturally).” But like that 1972 classic, “Glowing,” in the hands of Tyler, is a captivating study in contrasts.
