Artist: Tyrese feat. Jennifer Hudson
Song: “Shame”
Producer: N/A
Album: Black Rose
Director: Paul Hunter
Not to be confused with the short film of the same name, Tyrese intertwines the two through the video to “Shame.” We’re not exactly sure if this is an actual clip from the movie, but it feels like it, the way it plays out through the seven minutes. Although we heard how ashamed Ty was about his faults and mistakes when we first heard the track, there’s nothing like witnessing the pain and conviction a person is suffering. What makes it even more powerful is the fact that his performance is aimed directly at Jennifer Hudson, who witnesses him practically crying on stage for forgiveness.
Her face throughout the clip speaks volumes, but we’ll have to find out through the film if she actually does forgive him. His cheating ways and substance abuse may be too far gone for her to accept and try to overcome. Talk about the video making the song come to life, though.
Tyrese’s final album Black Rose is due out July 10.
