Rumors have surfaced regarding U2 and a brand new studio album in recent times, but never did we expect it to be released like this. To round off Apple’s announcement of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch, the band took to the stage and followed up the performance by putting Songs of Innocence on iTunes, free of charge. The album is available in over half a billion iTunes libraries right now, and only requires a click of the download button. As expected, the majority of the LP is produced by Danger Mouse, with additional work from the likes of Ryan Tedder and Paul Epworth.
Tim Cook & Bono make the announcement & countdown release, earlier today at Apple’s 9.9.14 Conference:
OS REWIND: U2 – Invisible [Music Video]
