Before we get the video for “The Don,” VH1 aired the best Behind The Music episode to drop this season, with special guest Nas. The hour long special captures Nasir’s rise to the top from his childhood in Queensbridge, to his start on the mic on his feature on “Live at the BBQ” and through different stages of his life (his best friend being killed, first album dropping, getting married, his mom passing away, the birth of his son) and how he channeled his feelings on wax throughout different albums. The episode also touches on his beef with 2pac at the height of the East Coast/West Coast war and his verbal AK Spray with Jay-Z on “Ether” vs. “Takeover” back in 2001 and how they reconciled.
This is a must watch.
