Yesterday, JAY Z broke news of his latest artist signing, being rising Chicago rapper Vic Mensa. The 21-year-old soon confirmed himself as a Roc Nation lifetime artist, revealing a tattoo on his neck for the Moet bottle from the original movement. He soon made a visit to Power 106 in Los Angeles to open up for the first time on the deal with Hov and his reasoning for signing with the label. After detailing how JAY and his collective are innovators, he saw his SAVEMONEY movement having that same mindset with the industry and more so life in general.

The Southside native also went to discuss the origins of his new single U Mad with Kanye West, which originally was derived from an R&B cut he had in the stash; but luckily Yeezy and Mike Dean convinced him to make the mini-track into a full single. He also went to talk his early music back ground before rap, including Nirvana being his favorite band and Jimmy Hendrix being his favorite artist to instill versatility in his now artistry.
