Warren G, Trash Talk & Warpaint are “Made In LA”

To live and die in LA, the place to be. You got to be there to know it. Everybody want to see.

Los Angeles is the next city the Made In America documentary series head down to, and they talked to a slew of people who came up from the area, especially those in the early punk movement. They actually focused on them the most, with a little commentary from Warren G and Egyptian Lover to start it off.

Warpaint, Mike Ness from Social Distortion, Alice Bag and David Yow all spoke on how they stumbled on to the punk scene, by straying away from the norms of Hollywood and doing their own thing. They didn’t want to fit into the mold or stereotype of LA.

As out of place in the documentary as Warren G was, he still managed to say a little something growing up in Long Beach and how there was no East Coast/West Coast beef in his eyes. It was merely problems between individuals that ended in tragedy.

We also got a little schooling on how Egyptian Lover came up through a DJ competition and he even gave a demonstration of the old school 808 machine.

Among others who spoke include Ariel Pink, Trash Talk and more.

OS REWIND: Danny Brown is “Made in Detroit”
