Last night, The Notorious B.I.G. was inducted into the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame during a ceremony broadcast on HBO MAX. Diddy was the one who inducted Biggie Smalls, after signing the Brooklyn rapper to Bad Boy Records in 1993.
BIG was also honored by the likes of JAY Z, Nas, Lin-Manuel Miranda and his family, including his mother Voletta Wallace, daughter Tyanna and son C.J.
In the commencement, Diddy talked about how Biggie was and what he did for rap. Hov compared him to Alfred Hitchcock and his storytelling abilities. Nas spoke on how he broke down doors for rappers in New York. His family touched on the fact he was a pillar in hip hop and one of the founding fathers, saying they’re honored to carry on his name and legacy.
The Notorious B.I.G. was inducted to he Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year with the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Whitney Houston, T. Rex, the Doobie Brothers, and Ahmet Ertegun Award winners Jon Landau and Irving Azoff.
He is the second rapper to ever make it, following Tupac Shakur.
