In 4 days from now, August 12th will mark the one year anniversary of the debut collaborative studio album from Jay-Z and Kanye West entitled Watch the Throne. This 11 minute mini-documentary was filmed in Sydney, Australia as it gives us an inside look at Hov and Ye’s creative process for the album as well as tons of behind-the-scenes footage in making WTT. In opening minutes, we take a flashback to 2002 where a young Kanye West at the time, prophesizes his career and legacy before it happens. Following that, ironically, Jay-Z also takes time to reflect on his protégé Kanye West in developing into one of the greatest hip-hop artist of all time.
This documentary leaked last year from a film festival recording but now has been re-released in full high-definition for our viewing pleasure. Special guest appearances include Beyoncé (of course), Russell Crowe and more.
Directed and Edited by Robert Lopuski.
