Weeknd planning political-influenced music 2021 album, following the release of his critically-acclaimed After Hours LP this year. In 2021, The Weeknd is going to be touring the entire world, as he looks to recoup money from his last project. Drake went as far as touting the album the year’s best, which was co-signed with many others.
However, Abel X.O. is planning to go left field, in a good way, with his next major album. The alterative R&B star is readying the untitled project, to feature a heavy influence of political content. In the brief excerpt, he confirmed that he’s already started working on the music; which he expects to continue into 2021 on tour for After Hours.
Take a look at the conversation below.
Discussing plans for upcoming music in 2021, while touring:
“I HAVE BEEN MORE INSPIRED AND CREATIVE DURING THE PANDEMIC THAN I MIGHT NORMALLY BE WHILE ON THE ROAD…THE PANDEMIC, THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT AND THE TENSIONS OF THE ELECTION HAVE MOSTLY CREATED A SENSE OF GRATITUDE FOR WHAT I HAVE AND CLOSENESS WITH THE PEOPLE NEAR ME.”
“I WAS LASER FOCUSED BACK THEN AND I’M LASER FOCUSED RIGHT NOW. THIS HAS BEEN THE STORY OF MY 20S. I FEEL LIKE I SPENT THE LAST 10 YEARS CREATING A SOUND AND MOST OF MY CAREER I’VE EITHER BEEN RUNNING AWAY FROM IT OR DUPLICATING IT. AFTER HOURS WAS THE PERFECT PIECE OF ART FOR ME TO SHOW MY TENURE IN THE INDUSTRY.”
