50 Cent – New Day (feat. Dr. Dre & Alicia Keys)
50 Cent has probably been the one who has kept hope alive for Detox. Through various albums where we heard Dr. Dre production, to interviews where he casually mentions it. The only thing is, people are getting tired of his antics.
Case in point: “New Day.” This track is amazing. It should be in commercials and movies. It should be the new positive anthem of 2012 that middle America embraces. It could have been used for President Obama’s re-election campaign. It’s a stadium status type of track.
But his fake beef with Floyd Mayweather, rants on Twitter against Interscope and everything in between make it hard to take anything Fif does serious anymore. That’s why we resort to listening to the Alicia Keys solo version. We need to blend in Dr. Dre’s verse to that and make the cypher complete.
