J. Cole’s New Album Is In Stores Now
This week, J. Cole released his third studio album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. We’d like to say it was long-awaited, but the release arrives with no more than a few weeks notice, and just one calendar year after his last effort, Born Sinner. It’s arguably his most personal record to date, relying on no guest features apart from production from Vinylz, !llmind, Willie B. and more. Not only that, but the title stems from Cole’s childhood home, which he recently re-bought.
Rather than big budget advertising and hit singles, Jermaine decided to make it all about the fans by inviting them to his home, providing a chance to hear the project with genuine interaction.
