Give them flowers. . .
With the states gearing up for some type of normalcy, as things are opening back up across the states; we wanted to shed light on something key. Last year, the world came to a stop in quarantine, where there was no sports, entertainment or events going on for a large portion of 2020.
Unless you were in Atlanta, Florida and Texas, the rest of America was shut down for you. Many artists also followed suit, including some of the most respected big names in the game opting to hold off on new music releases. This means no one could properly get paid with show money and live events; which is where the bulk of artist revenue comes from.
We don’t blame them and this is no knock at anyway who hasn’t been releasing music. It’s their choice when they feel the public is ready to properly receiving anything they release. However, one camp that decided to keep delivering heat, was the upstate Buffalo camp, known as Griselda. Benny the Butcher, Westside Gunn and the great Conway consistently kept their fans laced up with new music – THE ENTIRE TIME OF THIS PANDEMIC.
The sole reason we’re giving them flowers right now’ is because they didn’t stop the flow of content at the start of the pandemic. Music listeners, were in dire need to keep some type of sanity over the last year, when COVID-19 first starting.
Griselda members dropping once within a two-month window, kept things somewhat normal for a lot of people. With the vaccinations available to adults as of last week; we’re expecting events to begin opening up immediately.
So, before we see respected other A-listers like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Cardi B or even Jay-Z returning in the coming weeks/months; don’t forget who held down some of you down.
